Last night’s downpour of rain has hardly made any difference to the hard soil and rather browning grass; however it did do wonders for suppressing the normal Saturday night noise from the late night revellers falling out of the Beach bars.

Awake bright and early this morning, and walking through the sunshine and fresh smell of watered grass in the park, on my way to the gym, admiring the Green Parakeets (Aratinga holochlor) that were flying between the silver leaf poplar trees, I realise that I know little about the local wildlife. There is more here than the a pacific oyster.
